Early Life and Career:

Rinku Singh’s family had a strong background in wrestling, with his father being a wrestler himself. However, Singh was more interested in cricket and started playing the sport at a young age. He first played for Aligarh Cricket Academy before moving to Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association’s under-16 team.

Singh’s impressive performances in age-group cricket earned him a spot in Uttar Pradesh’s under-23 team in 2016. He made his first-class debut for Uttar Pradesh in the same year in a Ranji Trophy match against Madhya Pradesh. He made an immediate impact, scoring a century on debut, becoming the 3rd youngest player to score a century on debut in the Ranji Trophy.

Domestic Career:

Singh continued his good form in the following seasons, scoring consistently in domestic cricket. He played a crucial role in Uttar Pradesh’s successful campaign in the 2017-18 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where they reached the final. Singh was the team’s second-highest run-scorer, scoring 317 runs in 11 innings at an average of 45.28.

Singh’s performances earned him a spot in Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) squad for the 2018 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. He played a crucial role in KKR’s win against Chennai Super Kings, scoring an unbeaten 36 off just 28 balls.

Singh continued to impress in domestic cricket, scoring consistently in the following seasons. He was the team’s highest run-scorer in the 2018-19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, scoring 397 runs in 12 innings at an average of 33.08.
